It’s simple to prepare chocolate truffles, and here’s an easy homemade chocolate truffle recipe that will bring so much happiness to the people you care about.
What You Need:
- 12 ounces dark chocolate
- 16 ounces canned whole chestnuts
- 6 tablespoons of softened butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 dash of powdered red food coloring
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup Powdered Cocoa
- 1/4 cup brandy
How to Make Chocolate Truffles:
1. The Chocolate Transformation
First, chop the excellent quality dark chocolate, then place the chopped dark chocolate into the top part of a double boiler.
You then let the chocolate melt. Stir the chocolate until it gives you a smooth texture.
Then turn off the heat once the chocolate has melted and let it cool.
2. The Nutty Work
While waiting for the chocolate to cool down, place the chestnuts into the work bowl of a food processor.
Process the chestnuts for 1 minute or until they are smoothly pureed.
3. The Mixture
Combine the butter and sugar in an electric mixer or by using your hand by beating it for 3 minutes until it is light and fluffy.
You then mix in the brandy, chestnuts, and the vanilla extract until you get a smooth mixture.
Add in the chocolate and
4. Rolling, Rolling, Rolling
Now for the rolling part.
Pinch off about 1 spoonful of filling per truffle.
Roll the mixture and make 1 inch-diameter balls out of it.
Using ice cream scoops also work in doing this process because rolling truffles can be messy and sticky.
Note: If your mixture is too soft to keep its shape, let it chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
5. Cocoa Time
Spread cocoa over the plate and then roll the truffle balls in the cocoa.
Place the rolled truffles on a clean sheet of a parchment-lined baking sheet and continue to roll the remaining truffles in the same manner.
Remember that you must be careful not to overhandle the truffles; otherwise, things will get messy.
6. Just Chilling
Refrigerate your chocolate truffles for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Note: Store your truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
